Instructions
Infuse the tea bag in hot water and place the dried prunes in the tea while preparing the cake. This will make the prunes soft and tender.
Mix all the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, and salt.
In a separate bowl, beat the 2 eggs.
Heat the milk in a saucepan. Once the milk reaches a boiling point, add the butter and vanilla extract to it and remove it from the heat.
Incorporate the eggs into the flour mixture, then slowly add the milk. Mix well until all the flour is dissolved.
Prepare your baking pan by spreading butter on it then placing a parchment paper. Pour the cake batter in the baking pan.
Preheat your oven to 450 F degrees. Once the oven is hot, bake the cake at 450 F degrees for 15 minutes.
After 15 minutes, reduce the oven temperature to 400 F degrees and bake the cake for another 15 minutes.
Once more, after 15 minutes, redue the oven temperature to 360 F degrees and bake the cake for 30 minutes or until done. To check that your cake is done, insert a toothpick in the center of the cake, it should come out clean.
You can serve the cake warm or cold (place the cake in the refrigerator). Sift powdered sugar on top of the cake before serving.
