How To Cook Winter Squash

Instructions


Place steamer insert in pot.

Fill pot with water, stopping at the base of the insert.

Set pot aside.

Trim off both the stem and blossom ends of the squash.

Prepare squash by peeling and removing the seeds.

Chop squash into bite sized chunks or slices.

Place squash in steamer basket.

Bring the water to a boil.

Turn heat down to a simmer.

Cover and steam until squash is tender when pierced with a fork, about 30 minutes.15

Transfer squash to serving bowl, and season with butter, salt and pepper as desired.
