For the pesto

In a blender or food processor, add garlic, pine nuts, salt and pepper. Blend until everything is chopped up nicely. Add basil leaves and begin processing slowly. You might have to push some of the leaves down inside the mixture. The, slowly add olive oil while blending. Once olive oil has been incorporated, add Parmesan cheese and mix until smooth.

For the shrimp and pasta

Cook linguine until al dente in large pot of boiling, salted water.

Meanwhile, peel and devein shrimp. Saute in hot skillet with stick of butter and cook until done. Add the cooked linguine pasta and toss with pesto. Serve hot.
