Jam Drops (classic Cookies)

Instructions

Cream butter and sugar together until smooth. Beat in egg and vanilla. Add flour and mix until a soft dough forms.
Roll small amounts of dough (about 2 teaspoons) into balls and place on a lined baking tray. Leave enough space between biscuits to allow spreading.
Press your thumb into the top of each ball to create a hole. Drop about 1/3 teaspoon of jam into each hole.
Bake at 180 degrees Celsius for about 20-25 minutes, or until biscuits are firm and slightly golden.
WARNING:
Allow biscuits to cool on a wire rack for AT LEAST 20 MINUTES before serving, as hot jam can cause serious burns.
