Pumpkin Cake With Chocolate & Orange Sauces
Instructions
Pumpkin Cake
1) Mix 1 1/4 cup wet canned pumpkin, 3/4 cup buttermilk, and 1 tsp vanilla.
2) In another bowl, mix 2 1/4 cup flour, 2 tsp baking powder, and 1 tsp baking soda. Add 4 tsp of a mixture of cinnamon, allspice, and pumpkin spice.
3) In another bowl, mix with a mixer 1 1/2 stick butter and 1 1/4 cup sugar. Add 3 eggs.
4) Slowly add alternately the flower and the pumpkin mix to the butter mix. Mix well.
5) Transfer batter to baking pan that is already buttered and floured.
6) Bake for 40-45 minutes in 350 deg F.
Creme unglazed
1) Heat half-and-half, vanilla bean, and orange zest. Bring to a boil.
2) In another bowl, beat egg yolks and add sugar.
3) Slowly pour into the pot until it coats a wooden spoon. Add a tbsp of wine for better flavoring.
Chocolate sauce
1) Boil heavy cream and mix into semi-sweetened chocolate. Mix well.
