Wedding Cup Cakes

Instructions

To decorate your cupcake wedding cake, you could get adventurous with the icing or frosting as well as the little toppers. Standard icing has been used in the video, but for a more American style cupcake, why not try frosting?

Frosting comes in all sorts of flavours, with the basic one being vanilla buttercream, but you can really go to town with colours and other flavours too. So don't be afraid to try something different (lemon and lime, peanutbutter or marshmallow) or match your cake decoration to your wedding colours.

Piping frosting is super easy. It'll only take a couple of goes and you'll be an expert. All you need is a piping bag, star nozzle and spatula to get started. (If you're using frosting, try to frost the cupcakes the day before, don't store them with the frosting on).

For something a bit more glam, you can use fancy paper wrappers on your cupcake wedding cake. I found some lovely cupcake wrappers at the National Wedding Show that are perfect for a cupcake wedding cake. They come in all sorts of colours and patterns and really make your cupcakes look fabulous. You can see more of these special cases at www.cupcakesandbakes.com where you can order them.

For the final touch, add a small topper to your cupcake. There are plenty of little toppers around from iced flowers to shaped edible papers, so you're bound to find something that works with your theme or colours.
