Zarda Rice Dessert
Instructions
1) Soak the rice with some water before cooking.
2) Add water to the pan and let it boil. Add food coloring when it's already boiling.
3) Add the soaked rice and let it cook about 75% done.
4) Remove the water from the rice and set it aside.
5) Melt the clarified butter. Add the cardomom pods, cloves, coconut, and the nuts. Slightly fry but not browned.
6) In the same oil, add the sugar. Stir. Add the milk. Stir until the sugar has melted.
7) Add back the rice, and the nuts and coconut.
8) Cover and keep in a slow fire for about 15 minutes.
