Instructions

1. Pre-heat oven to 450 degrees, in a roasting pan place tomatillos, onions, garlic toss with half the olive oil and salt.
2. Roast uncovered until tomatillos start to turn black remove from oven stir and place back in oven until dark colors are present on all vegetables.
3. In a cast iron skillet toast the cumin, coriander, fennel, and whole black
pepper just until fragrant and wisps of smoke start to rise place them in a clean spice grinder and grind until a powder.
4. Meanwhile in a large pot place the remaining half of oil and cook the turkey do not brown or the turkey will be tough.
5. To the turkey add the tomatoes and the spice mixture add the chicken broth
and simmer.
6. In a food processor place the roasted vegetables and garbonzo beans and puree until smooth add this to the turkey and broth and season to taste.
