Vegetarian Oriental Shumai
Instructions
1.In a sauce pan saute the onion and Garlic in 1 TBS of Sesame oil until tender. Add Ginger and saute for another minute. Add the Bulgur Wheat and cook for another four minutes., stirring constantly.
2. Add 1 cup of the water and simmer until the bulgar has softened and absorbed most of the water.
3. Add in the Teriyaki sauce to the wheat and continue to simmer until all of the moisture has been removed. Put into another bowl and set aside.
4. In the same sauce pan add a bit more oil and saute the remaining finely chopped veggies briefly to soften and then add to the wheat mixture.
5. Add the hoisen sauce and stir.
6. Put about 1 tsp of the mixture into a wonton wrapper and fold and seal., making sure that you get all of the air out.
7. in a clean pan add some oil and place wonton's in pan. Fry till golden brown and then reduce heat to low. You will need a lid that fits the pan for the next step.
Take about 1/8 c water and pour it into the pan and quickly cover and let it steam off.
