Big Bacon Mushroom Cheeseburger

Instructions

Chop vegetables and combine in a mixing bowl with ground beef, bacon (broken into small pieces) and shredded cheese. (Feel free to adjust any add-ins here to fit your liking. We adjusted a bit just between the two of us, adding the mushrooms to the mixing bowl after my patties were formed.) Season with freshly ground sea salt and black pepper. Using your hands, mix ingredients and form 4 balls. Flatten each into a patty. Grill on low heat, flipping as necessary. We grilled ours for 15-20 minutes, but I'm a big fan of no pink in the center of my burger. Near the end of your desired grilling time, top with cheddar cheese. Serve in a toasted whole wheat pita, with any additional toppings you prefer.
